A coloured full body sketch of a Skarrog. Semi-fluffy lizardly anthros are much fun to draw. Instead of just having shorts with a tail opening, I went for the idea of treating the tail more like a limb and giving it a sort of sleeve :3

Silas sketch by Marmadish

This is a sketch of my character Silas, as the image name so imaginitively says :3 Though I draw quite a bit of stylised work, i.e. the Marmadish illustrations, I do still love drawing more realistic anatomy. Oh, and clothing folds. I love those too. I re-did the head on this sketch, the original version looked too off balance as the head was in profile and angled oddly. This'll get coloured and finished up at some point.

Marmadish - Illustration 2 by Marmadish

This is another finalised illustration to be used in the childrens book I am working on. Here, Marmadish can be seen creeping uneasily through a subterranian temple of sorts. It was a really fun piece to work on due to the lighting - one of my weak points has always been keeping shading consistant with the light source. This image gave me an opportunity to practice and play with lighting to try and create a more atmospheric image. The image took four evenings to complete - one to sketch the lines, one to finalise the lines and two to colour.

Ayut Skarrog - Face concept sketches by Marmadish

These are a series of sketches of a fictional race that is included in the story I have been working on for a couple of years (note, not the children's book :) ), showing various facial angles. I've tried to keep the facial features consistant through the different angles :x Their species is called the Ayut Skarrog, and they are a sort of sentient, bipedal lizard with fur that reaches down their backs and across the shoulders. I wanted a somewhat dinosaur-ish look for these characters, but with a slight hint of dragon. I'll draw a full-body image at some point, but for now I'm just glad I've nailed this design (or so I think :3 ).

Ready to travel by Marmadish

This is a simple coloured sketch of Marmadish as he's ready to leave on a journey...he travels light :) I wanted to make sure I could draw him consistantly from all angles. The style ought to look the same whether I'm drawing him from the front or in profile, or indeed at any angle if I am to create a consistant story with him.

This is one of the first images of Marmadish I drew - the idea for the character was very clear to me and so his design took about an hour to finalise. It is still one of my favourites :)

Marmadish - illustration 1 by Marmadish

This is the first illustration for the story, simply introducing Marmadish in a forest setting. He the main character in a children's book I have begun to work on, a short fox-like character who likes to travel and explore. I want the story to have a pleasent, whimsical theme and so have tried to aim for that when illustrating it.
